      • Document alternative for "generic" Linux binary.
      • Remove Evergreen tasks for RHEL 6.2.

      Background & Motivation

      libbson (a bundled dependency) does not test with RHEL 6.2. This resulted in necessary workarounds to upgrade libbson as part of MONGOCRYPT-685.

      Process to drop support of an OS+Arch or Compiler suggests criteria for dropping.

      The Java bindings use the RHEL 6.2 binary as the generic Linux binary.
