Ruby driver and Mongoid are currently tested by Evergreen and Travis. The Travis configurations are limited to 2 because the tests take a long time to complete and all drivers in MongoDB are subject to the same Travis quotas; Evergreen tests 20+ configurations. Additionally it takes ongoing effort to keep Travis tests green, and when Travis work needs to be done it requires a significant amount of wall clock time on the part of Ruby engineers again because the tests are queued behind other drivers' test suites with no way to prioritize them.

The team has decided that the value provided by Travis is not sufficient to keep it green, since it is easy to hit the approve button in Evergreen to get the full test run done. Therefore Travis testing will be removed from both Ruby driver and Mongoid.
