      CDRIVER-5932 changes are removing calc_release_version.py that ships with the C driver repository. Instead, the version information should be read from VERSION_CURRENT that is in the root of the repository.

      Note: This file has been committed to the repo for several stable releases, so waiting for CDRIVER-5932 to be completed is not necessary.
