The change in default UUID representation from PYTHON_LEGACY to UNSPECIFIED will be rolled out in PyMongo 4.0. In the preceding 'bridge' release - PyMongo 3.12 - we need to do some work to smoothen the transition for users who don't currently explicitly specify a UUID representation in their application as these applications will likely break during the transition to PyMongo 4.0.
