When preparing a release:

• [x] RELEASENOTES.md should be prepended to the CHANGELOG.md:
  • It should prepend the next version in the title before the title already there.
  • It should remove the empty sections.
• [x] After tagging the release commit the RELEASENOTES.md should be overridden with an empty RELEASENOTES.template.md, committed and pushed.

When releasing a release:

• [ ] A GitHub release should be created and the artifacts should be uploaded to it.
• [ ] The contents of RELEASENOTES.md should be posted to the #releases and #studio-team channel with the announcement of the release.

The existing releases should have their release notes copied from GitHub releases to the CHANGELOG.md.
