Backport bson 5.0 changes to 4.x

      It seems to me that non-jruby changes made in 5.0-dev branch are API-compatible with 4.x, and thus can be backported to 4.x to reduce the code surface we need to manage.

      The changes appear to be native (in C extension) serialization of symbols and numbers to BSON, as well as the package & class rename in the Java extension.
