Since the refactor in SERVER-99596 is not small and can't easily be flag gated, Charlie suggested we should add a property based test to prove metadata is validated according to the rules we've implemented. We want to have this test running on the pre-SERVER-99596 state of the codebase to confirm that ticket doesn't change any behavior.
