In SPM-3895 we introduced the logStatus() in implscope.cpp for printing the given status containing an error to the log. This function depends only on the logging subsystem and therefore is a good candidate for unit-testing. However, there are no existing unit-tests for implscope.cpp and log capture is not easy to import. Ideally, it would be nice to refactor log capturing utilities to be available to use in unit-tests and then use them to test logStatus().
