journaling : use less RAM in PREPLOGBUFFER+ phases

      If a group commit is unusually large, it would be helpful if the section we are writing to the journal doesn't have to be in RAM all at once. In theory this may be pretty easy to do.

      (The private view memory load would still be large, but this change might give us a order of 2x improvement in memory usage for these scenarios.)
