Document Validation should tell WHY a document failed validation

In 3.1.8, if I define a validator option, and try to write a document that fails validation, the error message will just say "Document failed validation." For cases where uses have non-trivial rules and documents, it would be much better to also list the fields that failed validation. (Ultimate user friendliness would be to also print the specific rule for that field that was broken, but I'd consider that very much a stretch goal.)
