When I run `mongo` shell I get the following output:
serene% mongo --port 14420 MongoDB shell version v4.4.0-rc10 connecting to: mongodb://127.0.0.1:14420/?compressors=disabled&gssapiServiceName=mongodb Implicit session: session { "id" : UUID("11903d9e-d115-4135-bdc8-258d83dab610") } MongoDB server version: 4.4.0-rc10 --- The server generated these startup warnings when booting: 2020-06-23T04:47:32.625-04:00: Access control is not enabled for the database. The last 3 lines are saying some value is set to 2000 and the recommended setting is 64000, but do not say what setting the numbers are referring to.
I believe the message is referring to the number of open file descriptors allowed (ulimit -n).
