When inserting {, [, or ( in most cases customer wants to balance it immediately, as leaving it for later makes it harder to balance. Non-trivial queries would be very hard to balance unless using some editor first. I am adding a naive implementation, but the real solution should take care of context (e.g. {[( in strings).
