This would make it safe to backport ~~SERVER-55680~~ to the 5.0 branch in case we find it becomes a problem for end-users later on. Without such a change, backport ~~SERVER-55680~~ to the 5.0 branch would re-introduce the bug described in ~~SERVER-55214~~.
