On the AWS Marketplace instance, /etc/mongod.conf has available configuration items "mms-token", "mms-name", and "mms-interval". When any of these are set, start mongod (service mongod start or /etc/init.d/mongod start) complains with "Starting mongod: error command line: unknown option mms-token\nuse --help for help".
