A goal of PM-3240 is to update shell explain helpers (example here) to understand the new explain format for CQF so that existing tests which assert on explain will work through Bonsai. This ticket is to look into these helpers to investigate how they're being used and come up with a game plan for updating/adapting them to work with CQF explain.
