This code expects to pull the hostname from AWS, or if it is not present, use "REPLACE_WITH_WORKSTATION_HOST_NAME".

Unfortunately 'requests' will throw instead of returning an error when the system is not on AWS, which means the user doesn't get helpful information about fixing engflow.
