Download the community server 7 or 8 MacOS ARM tgz from https://www.mongodb.com/try/download/community

Extract the tgz locally, and it extracts to AARCH64.

If on an apple silicone mac you can try using the install compass script, and it will alert you that only intel silicone is accepted, showing that it's the intel build, not the arm build.

Starting mongod doesn't report an architecture violation.

I am not positive this is the correct team to report this to, if it isn't I apologize and could you point me in the right direction?

      On our website: https://www.mongodb.com/try/download/community

The mongodb community server 7 & 8 MacOS ARM download extracts to an AARCH64.

I eventually installed it with Brew, but the aarch64 build doesn't allow install of compass, and has some errors with the daemon.

      To reproduce:

Download the community server 7 or 8 MacOS ARM tgz from https://www.mongodb.com/try/download/community

Extract the tgz locally, and it extracts to AARCH64.
