In the open-source release process, there's one step to edit the documentation landing page in src/docs/top/main.dox , which needs to be merged into the code base before running some of the later steps. It's currently a manual editing step that can be automated.

The existing dist/s_release_docs script (used by a later step of the release process) seems covered the required automation but has the side effect of touching the documentation Git repository. We should check and see if it makes sense to customize this script to support the needed automation in this ticket.
