The model's external API in kv_table currently provides two sets of APIs, one that takes all relevant parameters (e.g., timestamps), and a transactional API that takes a transaction object. The "non-transactional" APIs should be re-implemented as wrappers around the transactional APIs, which will result in better code reuse, test coverage, and simpler implementation.
