The compatibility_test_for_releases.sh offers a way to indicate which commit to use when testing a branch, see here. This comes from WT-9885.

When one submits a patch and executes that script, it will still take the tip of each branch instead of using the current changes. This means the changes are not being tested at this point, it should be changed.
