Statistics should provide valuable insights into what is occurring in WiredTiger when an abnormal event is raised or failure occurs. Over the years the number of WiredTiger statistics has grown significantly and now provides excess noise hindering the investigation process. We need to reevaluate the purpose of the eviction statics to increase the signal to noise ratio in the data.

This ticket covers the investigation process with the intention of creating specific actionable tickets during this process. Tickets should be created to rename, remove and backport statistics.
