Developer Productivity are in the process of migrating our POWER hosts to POWER9 in a new data centre, and this will require changes in the WiredTiger Evergreen configuration. It is possible that the new POWER9 host configurations may need updates before they are suitable for WiredTiger. The plan is that he cutover to the new hosts will be on 29th Nov.

This ticket will create patch builds that use the new POWER9 hosts, and identify, what, if anything, needs to be changed/updated to meet Storage Engines requirements, and create appropriate tickets (WT and/or DEVPROD) as required to make this happen.

      The definition of done is:

      • create patch build(s)
      • deliberately create failures that lead to core dumps, and check that it is possible to debug those failures using gdb and the core dumps
      • identify any issues
      • create tickets as required to address those issues.
