After salvage completes, there may be history store records that are incorrect with respect to the salvaged data, and subsequent behavior may be undefined.
A relatively easy solution is to discard all history store records for the salvaged object, as described in WT-8278.
A potential improvement is to add an additional pass to salvage, where records for the object in the history store are compared against the records in the salvaged object, as this may allow the retrieval of data which salvage would have otherwise discarded.
