The functionality introduced in SERVER-70905 to support applyOps chaining for large batched writes is current flag-guarded by the project feature flag added in SERVER-64565. The applyOps chaining capability is fairly isolated from the other project goals as should be safe to guard under its own more appropriately named feature flag.
